John Mckay has had another successful year, by growing a 616kg pumpkin and taking the title at Mapua Mega Pumpkin Competition, which by my calculations makes it the second heaviest pumpkin grown this year.
As well as doing that, he has been doing the media rounds, which will only boost the popularity of pumpkin growing here in NZ.
