What I am going to cover throughout the giant pumpkin growing season

There is a lot of information out there about giant pumpkin growing, and there is a lot of information to cover when you are writing blog posts about it, and I am going to try my best to cover everything I can.

All this will happen over the course of the growing season with the idea being that every blog post happens before the actual time you need to be doing what I am talking about, giving you enough time to digest the information and to get sorted.

What I am going to cover

This is a brief over view of what I will be covering

  • Seed selection
  • Different ways of growing
  • Where to place your patch
  • Soil testing
  • Preparing your patch
  • Seed starting
  • Seedling protection
  • Transplanting
  • Watering
  • Compost Tea
  • Vine burying
  • Weed control
  • Pollination
  • Insects and disease
  • Estimating weight/Measurement
  • Later protection
  • Seed harvesting

Lots of information to cover for giant pumpkin growing

As you can see there is a lot of information to cover, as well as the constant updates about what I am doing, I will also be going through the website and updating the How To section with more information, and making it as good as I can.  Of course there will be other things that will appear if they come up for various reasons, but this is a good guide to what I will be covering.

I have covered a lot of this from previous years, and will be referencing past information but feel free to use the search box, or look back at the archives as well, but every year it is about learning more, and trying new things

Through the good and the bad

There is no guarantee of success, and there is always a probability of failure, but no matter what the outcome, you will be able to see what I am up to, what I am trying.

Get involved

If you have a question, or want to know how something is done, or works, please get hold of me, and I can answer your question via email, or even with a video on your question.

So there we have it, this is my goal/objectives for the following year, and I hope you find all of this useful in your endeavour to grow the biggest giant pumpkins you can.
