It has been just over a week since the NZ giant pumpkin record was broken by Aaron Akkerman in Marton and the NZ record has been broken again, this time by Tim Harris with a 754.5kg pumpkin weighed in at Hamilton yesterday.
1663 in pounds with a OTT of 433 it weighed almost exactly to the estimated weight, and didn’t want to go heavy as predicted by a lot of US growers.
More photos from The great Pumpkin Carnival will be up on the site tomorrow.
Thanks for checking out this post! I’ve been growing giant pumpkins for over 15 years, mostly in small spaces.
