The sun can be harsh. Harsh on us, and harsh on pumpkins.
Having shade when it is sunny is great.
I’ve talked about shade in the past, talking about a home made shade structure here building a hoop type structure one year, show my basic tarp shade here and have a page about it as well.
The main thing to remember is it doesn’t have to be some sort of super structure, keep it simple and start with a sheet over your pumpkin.
It doesn’t matter if it gets wet either, it will dry out.
