Things here are pretty good, I had to shoot off to Hastings unexpectedly early last week as there was a death in the extended family, and went back down again on Saturday for the funeral, lots of travelling and lots of not being in the patch.
I think I might have reached the limit to what I can expect from out of the tiny patch I am growing in. Last year things seemed to go OK with the plan of growing something better than last year’s efforts, but that might not be the case it seems.
Maybe I needed to get a whole lot more organic material into this tiny area, or maybe introducing more consistent watering to this area has had a negative effect and washed a lot of potential nutrients away. It is always interesting to see how the season will go.
What can you take away from this?
- Well if your reading this you have probably had something growing this season already, but if you haven’t just remember you can grow in a small space, don’t let it put you off.
- You will have a bad season at some point, what you class as bad could be completely different to someone else.
- Always be learning and trying new things.
Miniatures are growing
The miniatures which I started very late seem to be going quite well in their container, I’ll have to wait and see what they produce.
Other pumpkin plant update
This is the plant, and it is quite yellow, it is lacking nutrients and at a guess Nitrogen will be a big part of what it needs, I will dose it with some liquid fert and see if it perks up.
Over the last couple of weeks, I have gotten a lot of clarity on what I want to be doing next year with this website and updates, which is of no use at all to anyone right now, but it’s good to have an idea of what direction I want to be going, I’m working on lots of bits and pieces right now in preparation for that
Time to get more stuff done for the pumpkin carnival as well.
